Dali's Surreal Elephants

Salvador Dali
Surrealism art

Salvador Dali in his Studio

A sample of a Howdah. ( A saddle like carriage ).

This Salvador Dali  project is a two day lesson plan.

We drew an elephant with exceptionally long surreal legs, on a separate white piece of paper. Then carefully crumpled it up and flattened it back out.
Now our elephants have texture! Paint Grey, let dry, then cut out elephants.

Love this photo

The kids glued and attached their elephants.
We added fabric swatches for the blanket,
then the glistening gold Howdah complete with gems!

I took pictures of the kids the first session.
I had them sit in a chair as if they were riding in the Howdah.
This was a fun project for all.
